The Mumbai Police have taken action against stars Amitabh Bachchan and Anushka Sharma after receiving complaints from social media users about their recent appearances riding different bikes sans helmets. On Monday, Anushka Sharma and her bodyguard rode a bike on a road while Amitabh hitched a lift to his workplace from a fan. Both times, neither of them wore helmets, nor did their riders.
Amitabh Bachchan shared a photo of the two of them on a bike on Instagram. “Thanks for the trip boy..don’t know you..but you complied and brought me to my place of work on time..to avoid the rapid and intractable traffic jams..thanks Capped, Shorts And the owner of the yellow T-shirt,” the man wrote in his note. This prompted a Twitter user to write, “Lack of helmets for both rider and rear rider. @MumbaiPolice please take note,” tagging Mumbai Police in response.
Mumbai Police’s Twitter account responded by writing, “We have shared this with the traffic branch.” Similar to this, a user tweeted “@MumbaiPolice no helmet?” in response to a video of Anushka Sharma riding a bike that appeared online.
The Mumbai Police responded by saying that the traffic police had been made aware of the situation. We have shared this with the traffic branch, he wrote in his comment. The tweets included a mention of the Mumbai Traffic Police’s official Twitter account.
Amitabh last appeared with Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, Sarika, and Parineeti Chopra in Elevation.
