Director Vivek Agnihotri has released the trailer for the web series The Kashmir Files Unreported following the box office success of The Kashmir Files. While it details the causes of the massacres and departure of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir, it is hailed as being “even more heart-wrenching, eye-opening, and hair-raising.”

The web series will contain conversations with historians, specialists, real-life victims, and their relatives, according to the two-minute trailer. In the clip, many people can be seen crying as they tell their stories. It makes the claim to illustrate the circumstances leading to the repeal of Article 370 and its consequences for Kashmir in the present.

Vivek Agnihotri, the show’s producer, said of The Kashmir Files Unreported, which will shortly air on ZEE5, “The genocide in Kashmir is not only a disgrace on India but a blight on mankind. It is regarded as the biggest unsolved catastrophe in contemporary times. For us, it was crucial to tell this narrative truthfully. All of the reports that have appeared in recent movies, books, and other media are current. It was a sobering experience when, after 32 years, we made The Kashmir Files based on four years of exhaustive study. However, there were opposing viewpoints on the movie; some thought it barely represented 10% of truth, and others thought The Kashmir Files was propaganda.

As the truth is difficult to handle, it was crucial to us that we make all of the research and interviews we conducted available in their most bare-bones form. I can assure you that The Kashmir Files Unreported will tear your heart, but the goal is for us to take lessons from the past, adopt a zero-tolerance policy for terrorists, and defend humanity and our people, he said.

Pallavi Joshi on The Kashmir Files Unreported

“When the Kashmiri Pandit community shared with us about the profound pain and suffering they went through, it was very difficult for us to listen to their horror stories,” said Pallavi Joshi, co-producer and wife of Vivek, who played the bad guy in The Kashmir Files. “Not only were we so moved by that grief and pain, but we also felt very small realizing that this story was not told to us by the government, the administration, the media, and others.”

He continued, “The Kashmir Files was a 3-hour movie that we filmed, but it was just the tip of the iceberg. We came to the realization that the truth needed to be presented to the public in its true and bare form when a segment of the society began claiming that it is a falsehood and a propaganda film. We therefore give The Kashmir Files Unreported, which demonstrates our exhaustive study as well as the unfathomable horrors and evil committed by these people. As a result, this is a series that every Indian must watch because they all need to understand what Kashmir means to India and how integral it has been and will be to our nation.

The seven-part series will debut on ZEE5 and is produced by Vivek Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi of IamBuddha Entertainment and Media LLP.
