Actor Amitabh Bachchan talks about his upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD, which has become the first Indian film to be screened at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2023. Amitabh Bachchan claimed to be unaware of the incident on his blog on Friday morning. He claimed that when son-actor Abhishek Bachchan described Comic-Con to him as a “big deal,” he knew what that meant.

On his blog, Amitabh stated: “Also, Project K’s debut trailer was just unveiled in San Diego at the enormous Comic-Con film festival. Without any hesitation, I must admit that I had no idea what Comic-Con was. That didn’t mean anything until I explained it to Abhishek, or rather asked him what it was all about, and he responded: “Dad… comic-Con? It is significant.”
He also wrote: “And as I take part in the zoom call for the movie’s release day today, I can’t help but be impressed by Nagi Ashwin and his crew for crafting such a fantastic movie. I’m attempting to post a teaser here, but I lack the necessary skills. I’m hoping to have enough assistance by morning.”
Amitabh Talks About Abhishek’s Reaction
Talking about his son, Amitabh further wrote, “Abhishek’s reaction said it all… ‘WOW!!! That is HUGE. Well, he was eating ladoo peda (sweets) for that. (Laughing emoji) Everything is. Abhishek shared the first glimpse of Kalki 2898 AD on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Wow! Kalki (okay emoji) 2898 AD. Navya Nanda Nevali, Amitabh’s granddaughter, uploaded the video on her Instagram Stories along with a fire emoji.

Kalki 2898 AD is a sci-fi film directed by Nag Ashwin, also starring Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film is set in 2898 AD and offers a “unique and immersive cinematic experience”. In a press statement issued by the film’s production team, “The upcoming Indian film Kalki2898-AD promises to transport viewers to a universe they have never seen before. The movie’s scheduled release date is January 12, 2024.”
