Kareena Kapoor Khan made her Bollywood debut alongside Abhishek Bachchan in the June 2000 film Refugee. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was such a massive success that it has become an icon and is still adored by many. Newcomers Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel were reunited in Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage after winning the affections of millions of viewers in their previous film. At that time, the romance musical drama made ripples in the film industry. In an old interview with Filmfare, Kareena Kapoor Khan discusses her departure from the project. The actress asserts that she would have become a celebrity had she participated in the film, but she is glad she did not because she wants to be recognised as an actress. He added that the film was created for Hrithik Roshan. “Her father spent five hours on each frame and close-up of her, but only five seconds on Ameesha,” she said. He stated that there are photographs of Ameesha Patel in which her acne and under-eye puffiness are visible. Kareena Kapoor Khan maintains she would have gotten a better deal if she had been in the film, but she believes the film’s focus should be split between the two protagonists. She is therefore pleased that she declined the Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai offer. She is also pleased that this did not influence her friendship with Hrithik.
Professionally, Kareena Kapoor Khan will next be seen alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon in The Crew. Producing the film are Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. They also possess “Devotion to Suspect X” by Sujoy Ghosh. In development is Hansal Mehta’s untitled film, for which she served as producer.
