Even though Shaan’s famous song “lonely heart” was released 20 years ago, we are still motivated by it. The song’s music video, in which the vocalist was also present, is particularly notable for its capacity to evoke strong feelings. Few people would be aware, though, that Shaan was absolutely baffled during the video shoot; now, he can laugh about it all.

In a private conversation with Bollywood Ruckus, Shaan said that the video’s director, Sanil Shekhawat, did not disclose the video’s content to him. “What’s the video? is something I used to ask him. He frequently said, “Nothing. You shouldn’t worry about it, Shan remarked.

Shaan was perplexed by the directions given by the director when he arrived to Mumbai’s Filmcity for the shoot. ‘Yahan se wahan chalo, wahan se yahan chalo,’ he exclaimed (Walk from here to there and from there to here). Now put on these clothing and travel there. Together with me, a few folks were walking. Even worse, I had no idea what he was doing. He used to remark, “Now follow what I am telling you, that’s all,” whenever I queried him about the video. I don’t know what happened because the entire film was made in that manner,” Shaan stated.

Yet he was taken aback when he watched the video. “When it all came out, it was magnificent,” remarked Shaan. He claimed to be aware of its significance. Your life is walking. You may see things that have happened when you look back. The future is what you see when you look ahead. When you reflect back, you see your loved ones and friends, yet for some reason, you are forced to part ways with them and move on. When that happens, you start to worry about the future. Yet when you take a step back, you see that they were always there. Hence, he created a metaphorical video in this manner.

Ram Sampath, who wrote the song, had a lot of free time back then, Shaan reminisced while sharing further memories of the song. I experienced the same thing. We completed the entire eight-song album in around 2.5 years. Every other day I used to go to his Matunga home. Filter coffee was once served by his mother. We had fun.
