Prior to Sachin Tendulkar’s 50th birthday on April 24, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh recounted his recollections of the legendary cricketing great and described him as a role model for the nation’s players. Despite being revered as a deity in his homeland, the master blaster is renowned for his humility.
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh revealed his experiences of a renowned Indian hitter with whom he shared the dressing rooms in the Indian squad and Mumbai Indians. Sachin Tendulkar was probably one of the best batters of all time in international cricket.
“Paaji is arguably the cricketer who is closest to being flawless. Despite having a god-like position and an irrational amount of support in our nation, he is undoubtedly a role model and an example of how to live your life with dignity and humility, Harbhajan Singh said in an interview with PTI.

Harbhajan Singh recalled the incident from the 2003 World Cup, when the young master participated in unusual throwdowns during practice instead of taking on the Indian bowlers. In 11 matches during the World Cup, Sachin Tendulkar scored 673 runs at an impressive average of 61.18 and formed an outstanding partnership with Sourav Ganguly.
“One short narrative will be sufficient to grasp Sachin Tendulkar’s greatness. Paaji didn’t bat in the nets for even a single day of the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. Although the Indian bowling unit did well, neither I nor Javagal Srinath, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble, or myself bowled to him at the nets even once during the competition.
With more than 600 international matches under his belt, Sachin Tendulkar is the only cricketer in history to have scored 100 hundreds in international play, including 51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs. On November 2013, Tendulkar stepped down from all forms of the game.
I Will Remember Till My Last Day – Harbhajan Singh On Sachin Tendulkar’s Epic Knocks
Sachin Tendulkar was well-known for his spectacular wins over top-notch opponents. At the 2003 ODI World Cup, Harbhajan Singh chose his two favorite Indian legend knocks from Sharjah and one from a knock against Pakistan.

“Sure, he has 49 ODI hundreds, but I will always remember those three innings in Sharjah, along with the 98 against Pakistan at Centurion. 275 was equivalent to 350 in 1998, while 270 or higher was a par score in a 2003 World Cup game. In the high-stakes game, chasing demands a different mentality. Added Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh continued by wishing the Indian icon a long life of health and the ability to continue inspiring those around him.
