After the last session of Day 2 of the ongoing India vs. West Indies second Test match at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on Friday, Virat Kohli shocked West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva. In his 500th international match, the former India captain not only made history but also got to meet Da Silva’s mother, a supporter of the RCB great. Joshua told Kohli on Day 2 that his mother is a major admirer of his and that she was traveling to the venue specifically to watch him play. The stump mic caught Joshua’s statements.

At the Team India bus after the final session, Joshua’s mother ran into Kohli and gave him a bear embrace before sobbing uncontrollably. The Windies player captured the action on camera in the interim. The 25-year-old responded by saying that Kohli “definitely” made his mother’s year.

He remarked in a speech to the BCCI, “My mother stated that she prefers to see Virat Kohli rather than me before they won, which was really a few days prior to the Test match. Hence, it’s amusing in a way. I felt compelled to mention it.”

“My mother therefore said, “See, there comes Virat,” as soon as he boarded the bus. I went and rapped on the window as a result. He showed there, introduced himself to my mum, and probably made her year “He went on to say.

With 121 runs off 206 balls and 11 fours, Kohli was in excellent form on Day 2 as India went on to score 438 in their first innings. India put on a strong batting performance and now leads the two-match series 1-0.
